Oklahoma's All Stars came on strong and held the lead for most of the first period but by half time Kansas City was coming back big with a score of 95 to 80. Oklahoma tried to come back in the second period but KC's momentum was too great and when the final whistle blew Kansas City was standing tall with 187 to 155.
This latest victory moves Kansas City from 33 to 27 in the WFTDA rankings. The All Stars will be the number eight seed in the Division 1 Playoffs Sept. 5 in Sacramento, CA! Their next game will be in August when they go to Lincoln, NE to play No Coast Derby Girls' Mad Maxines.
Fresh off of their silver medal winning performance at The Midwest Derby Fest tournament back in June, Plan B took the line against the Battle Squad for the second game. Oklahoma drew first blood with an early lead, but by half time, Plan B had extinguished all hopes of an easy victory with a score of 76 to 45. The Battle Squad fought back through the second period and with four minutes left, they were within three points of tying it up. But Plan B didn't drive all that way to lose in the final minutes of the game and managed to pull ahead to a final score of 154 to 140.
Plan B will be traveling to Topeka, KS in August where they will play the Capital City Crushers. See you all then.
